March Reflection - End

Because my group is also involved in another CAS project, we have decided to discontinue this one. We decided that it wasn't helping the community in a way that we wanted it to, therefore we are ending this CAS project so we can put our full efforts into our other one, which helps the community in a much greater way.

February Reflection

This month, along with making some cards, we started the process of candy donations. Karen, my CAS partner, was able to speak with the manager of Enstromes Candy who said she would be more than willing do donate some candy and help out our cause. We will need to professionally meet with her and plan it out but we now have a solid source of candy for October. Next month we will probably make some more cards. Our goal is to reach about 200-300 and we are at about 75.

January Reflection

I didn't make any cards this month. We will have to start collecting candy soon. We had our first consultation with our CAS adviser and he said we are doing well. He suggested we make a website regarding the holiday, to try and get the word out there, and we did. To be honest, I am kind of worried that we will procrastinate and it will get really stressful in October. My other CAS project is a lot more difficult than this one, but the two combine makes this whole process stressful. But I'm confident we will get it done to the best of our abilities.

December Reflection

This month, I made more cards. Hopefully next month or in a few months, we will start talking to candy companies.

November Reflection

For this month's reflection, we made more cards. We still have a lot to go, but I got a lot more done. Soon we will need to start talking to organizations and fundraising for candy.

October Reflection

We met and started making cards that will go to homeless shelters, nursing homes, and other organizations in October 2014.

Our Plan

This will take place the 3^rd Saturday in October of 2014. Basically, we will fundraise by asking for donations from the school and community through advertising (newspaper articles, radio, posters), and we will also ask for candy donations from candy companies such as Enstroms. The candy and money for the candy will be taken to The House, and The Homeless Shelter and given to the children. Then throughout the months, we will begin making cards and treats for people at all three; The House, Homeless Shelter, and Nursing homes. On that Saturday, we will take all the candy, cards, and balloons to the desired destination and visit with the people and give them their treats. Throughout the months, we can also visit the places that we will be donating to and help out as volunteers. For our monthly reflections, we will use videos, pictures, and written reflections via blog to communicate our progress.
